About

Welcome to Malcolm Fontier…

It’s a big world out there, and you can’t see it from your couch.
Somewhere in between the buttoned-up, khaki-clad clones and the bling-bling divas are those of us that believe adventure and style go hand-in-hand. The idea that life goes beyond the daily grind to the good stuff, like purposely getting lost in your own neighborhood or taking a last-minute trip to Buenos Aires. We don’t just do it- we do it UP. For us off-the-beaten-path urban adventurers, we have created a line of accessories that have the function AND the looks that will make even our gay friends proud. Our designs are ready for whatever’s on the roadmap, and especially for what’s not. Just pack it up and go…and make sure to go in style. See the world, meet the people, taste the culture, and live the life.

Design isn’t just an art form, it’s a way of life. Our studio, led by Malcolm Fontier, has redefined the boundaries of style by creating a line of distinctive and practical unisex accessories. The functionality and attention to detail applied to each and every piece in the line was designed with your lifestyle in mind.

Once upon a time...Our company began when Malcolm’s work as a freelance product designer grew into a small consultancy. After five busy years, we had designed a wide range of products sold in major U.S. retail stores and international markets. In 2006, with the help of press8 Collective, we set-out to design and produce a line of products that truly captured and supported what is important to us.

In lands far, far away…We love all adventures - any size, any place. Launching our line has definitely been an adventure that spanned the globe and allowed us to learn from the amazingly creative people that we met along the way. The idea for the line that you see here was hatched over drinks in France, sketched out on long plane flights, researched in Hong Kong, and refined on the beach in Brazil (not to mention the countless, less glamorous hours contributed at the office). Even though the concept came from us, the details are a result of many discussions and brainstorms with great people in our network of friends and hard-working associates around the world.

Don’t just venture, Venture Boldly. Each day is a new adventure if you find it in the small stuff.

Since most of us aren’t able to traipse around the globe everyday, here are a few ideas for adventures close to home:

  • Ask your local coffee mega store to start charging people per word of an order, that way the annoying people who order a “Venti, no whip, no fat, upside-down, extra hot, double shot, triple caramel, caramel macchiato” have to pay through the ass.
  • Decide to be different and stand up for Michael Bolton. Tell people you continue to rock his entire collection. Everyone will assume you are extremely confident in yourself.
  • Take a “Sketchy bar tour”. Think of every spot that you have passed by wondering what kind of people go to THAT place? Gather a few friends and make a night of finding out.
  • Do some “Social Out-of-Networking”. Pick up your local city guide and find an event or concert that is as far removed from your social circle as possible, and go! I hear Warrant and Poison are doing a reunion tour…mullet and hair spray not required.
